These Portraits and Figure paintings were done at Hipbone Studio from the 90's to the mid 2000's. Hipbone was my escape place when my children were young. I could totally forget everything going on at home for a few hours. When I found paint sticks I started using them on the drawings I was making on Vellum. I liked the look of paint on vellum and even though this way of working is not archival.
The portraits started to become a community with their own back stories which in some cases are reflected by their names.
